Jose is a native of Lawrence, graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental and Legal Studies from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Since 2018, Jose has worked first as an intern and then as our Environmental Fellow to assist the Council with various digital education projects, as well as regularly collecting water quality data. In 2021 Jose officially joined as a permanent staff member and works within the Water Resources Program to engage our communities in science, restoration and environmental education.

Jose competed for the UMass Lowell Rowing team, and continues to row and boat on the Merrimack River.
