planned giving
Make a lasting impact with a bequest to the Merrimack River Watershed Council
Making a planned gift to the MRWC through your will, trust, or other means is a meaningful way to leave behind clean water and a livable earth to the next generation that will inherit our Merrimack River Watershed.
Bequest in your will options:
- Direct a specific bequest of money or an asset (i.e. stock) to the MRWC
- Designate a percentage of the total value of the estate
- Designate a residual bequest which directs that the MRWC receive the remainder of the estate, or a portion of the remainder, after all expenses and other bequests have been made.
Donors who include the MRWC in their long-term charitable planning are recognized as members of our Merrimack Legacy Circle. These thoughtful supporters have decided to establish a legacy of support that will help the MRWC continue our work for years to come. Members of the Merrimack Legacy Circle will be acknowledged in our Annual Report, unless they choose to remain anonymous.
It’s simple to make, costs you nothing during your lifetime, and has flexibility so you can plan it to meet your personal objectives. For example, you can leave a certain dollar amount or a property. Or you can designate a percentage of what remains in your estate after your debts are paid and your heirs are cared for. You can direct your gift to meet our greatest needs or to support a specific program that’s meaningful to you. You can also use a bequest to make a tribute gift that honors someone special.
If you have, or would like to include the MRWC in your estate plans, please contact Tracey Chalifour, Director of Development at (978) 655-4742 or tracey@merrimack.org so we may recognize your generosity as a member of the Merrimack Legacy Circle.
