Trout Unlimited Tree Planting
The Pemigewassett Chapter of Trout Unlimited has been instrumental in the Beebe River watershed for the past 7 years through restoration, land protection, scientific research and monitoring, and community outreach. Half a dozen stream crossings have been replaced to restore wild Brook Trout passage, and most recently, a bridge was installed in Campton, NH during the fall of 2021.

This tree planting event is the final step to complete restoration of this stream crossing site, and just shy of restoring cold water fish passage in the entire watershed. Native trees will be planted in disturbed areas. Trees and equipment are provided by the Merrimack River Watershed Council to implement a US Forest Service grant award with a goal to protect sourcewater in the greater Merrimack River Watershed. Additional support has been provided by NH Fish & Game Department, and the crossing replacement was completed with funding from state and federal sources. Attendance is limited to Pemigewassett Chapter of Trout Unlimited members and affiliates.
The rain date is May 2nd from 9am to 2pm. Contact tyson@merrimack.org for more information.
