Paddling on the Merrimack – Concord NH

Join the Merrimack River Watershed Council on a paddling trip around Concord, NH with the local New Hampshire based company North Country Kayak. The Council invites the community to explore the river from a kayak!

Our trip will start at NHTI boat ramp, just a stone’s throw from downtown Concord, New Hampshire. We will paddle across the Merrimack River and explore the channel around the Concord Island Reserve. From there we will paddle upstream along the banks of the Merrimack River Outdoor Education and Conservation area. We will continue on into a pastoral landscape north of the city. After a mile of upstream paddling we follow the river back down – past the put in, and paddle south towards a more urban landscape. After a quick jaunt downstream we will turn around once again – and finish our paddle back where we started. Total paddle time is 2 hours. Total mileage: 4 miles.
