Hiking the Merrimack – Maudslay State Park

Join MRWC as we walk along the Merrimack River in Maudslay State Park, in Newburyport. We’ll see the river from the spectacular viewpoint of Maudslay’s shoreline, and we’ll learn about the river’s ecology, history, and environmental challenges. We’ll also focus on some of Maudslay’s fascinating history, such as the site of its “castle.”
This is a vigorous hike – along about 4 miles of trails that traverse hilly terrain, lasting about 2 hours. We will take some some breaks along the way.
The hike takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. We will meet in the park’s parking lot. The hike is free, however the park charges $5 per car for parking.
Registration is required. Registration is limited to 20 participants. The rain date is Oct. 31 (Halloween!)
