Hello, my name is Jake and I am serving as MRWC’s New Hampshire AmeriCorps member this year. I’m originally from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and I graduated with a B.S. in Natural Resources Conservation and an undergraduate certificate in Public Policy from UMass Amherst in 2020. Before this, I interned for the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge in Connecticut and spent last year working as a park ranger at Dead Horse Point State Park in Moab, Utah. Both experiences helped me develop my environmental education and teaching skills, and I am very excited to bring these abilities to outreach events and restoration projects with MRWC.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, ice skating, and playing guitar. I used to row on my high school’s crew team, and I have fond memories of being in crew races on the Merrimack river. I look forward to working to protect this beautiful resource and making connections with like-minded individuals throughout the watershed!
